Established in 1887 and originally known as Salem Baptist Church, Escatawpa Baptist Church has a rich heritage of making the Gospel known in Moss Point, Mississippi. Relocated to its present site in 1975, EBC continues to seek to glorify God by making disciples of all nations.

Our Mission

Love God, Love Others

I. Love God

Jesus tells us in Matthew 22:37-38, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment.”

We were created to know and love God. However, humanity cannot love and know God rightly because of our disobedience to God’s commands. We are separated from God and will be separated from Him eternally. But God, because of His mercy and love, sent Jesus to bear the punishment that we deserve and to live the life that we could never live. So now, through trusting in Jesus and not ourselves as well as turning from our sin, we can be saved and reconciled to God.

Because of Jesus, we can do what we were created to do. Love God!

II. Love Others

Jesus goes on to tell us in Matthew 22:39 that the second greatest commandment is “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

The greatest way we can love others is by telling them how they can know and love God through Jesus Christ. This is why the Bible calls Christians to make disciples.

Jesus tells all Christians to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

Knowing this is our mission given to us by God, our vision is to exalt Christ in Moss Point, and to the ends of the earth.

Our Vision

We exist to exalt Christ and see Him exalted in Moss point and to the ends of the earth.

We exalt Christ by gathering together for worship and meeting in small groups weekly. We want to be authentic people that genuinely care for one another and know Christ more.

Each week on Sunday, we gather together to worship God and to hear from Him through His Word by His Spirit. We desire to be true disciples of Jesus that make disciples. Therefore, our worship gatherings emphasize three different aspects:

  • Head

We want to know God and think rightly about Him. God has revealed Himself to us through the Bible and in the person and work of Jesus. So, our worship and sermons are biblically-based and Christ-centered.

  • Heart

We want to desire God and be passionate about the Gospel. The truths of the Scripture move us to not only think rightly about God but also love and long for God. Because of this, our weekly gatherings are Gospel-focused.

  • Hands

We want to joyfully obey God as people, who have been saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Therefore, we emphasize real-life application, so that we will be sharing the Gospel and making disciples in our daily lives.

We carry out our vision by serving our community, so they may know the hope of the Gospel.

Each year, we provide opportunities for members of the community.

  • Children Activities
